I HATE CMS. Hate pages where we have to put CMS and clients never use it - we could omit CMS, and change contents in the code, would have been much faster and simpler.

Yep. I feel ya. I work with Sitecore now, which is highly flexible but as a result, no small task to integrate and maintain. 99% or more of the content has never changed, and I'm highly confident that changing it all in code myself would have taken less time than even showing the copywriter/marketer how to use the CMS and fix their screwups.
